Also Google will display the ad with the highest CTR automatically if you leave that option switched on so add as many ad variations as you can and Google will do the rest.

Try and aim for …
Try and aim for position 3 or 4 rather than 1 because position 1 gets a lot of clicks from people who aren’t paying attention therefore your conversion rate may suffer.
Run two separate ad groups one for search and one for the content network otherwise the content network will ruin CTR on your search.
If you are getting poor conversions then you should go for exact match rather than broad.

Hi Caro, please take this as positive. I have more trouble following your videos than the others, better now that I use HD. The others absolutely spell out what they are doing. You say now we go here but I don’t know where to click to get to the next screen. The others say click on this link at the bottom left etc. Treat me like a pre-schooler, because in terms of Adwords that’s exactly what I am. Your delivery in terms of voice and energy is excellent you just need to remember I’m dumb. Greg
